Thousand Dollar Fudge

Last year I made this fudge for my chocolate swap in February–like my cookie swap in December!  These are not remotely dairy free or low anything.  But the recipe is easy peasy and a huge hit.  This is typically a “holiday” recipe in December, but you can see how you can change it up for any holiday–or for a random Tuesday in April!  You can make them without a “topping” or you can add crushed candy canes, toffee pieces or white chocolate chips…as a variation.

Thousand Dollar Fudge

  • 10 Large Marshmallows
  • 2 cups Sugar
  • 1 can Sweetened Condensed Milk
  • 1 packet Milk Chocolate Chips
  • 6 tablespoons Butter
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla
  • Nuts (optional)

Step 1
In a heavy saucepan, combine the marshmallows, sugar and sweetened condensed milk. Bring to a boil and continue boiling for 6 more minutes, stirring constantly.
Step 2
While waiting for the mixture to boil, combine in a large bowl all of the remaining ingredients.
Step 3
At the end of the six minutes, pour the hot mixture over the other ingredients. Stir until they melt. Pour into a greased 8x8 inch pan. Makes 1 pound.
